Be the reason: Prosperity Meade
Every scholarship dollar counts for Saint Louis University students like Prosperity Meade. Hear from this nursing major about how donor support is helping her prepare for her future vocation.Prosperity says:"When I first came to college, I was also paying part of my tuition myself from my summer jobs. And that was getting quite stressful.Being able to receive so much financial help has helped me be able to be back on campus and put more time into things like studying and also just being a student. Like hanging out with friends, being at the library — those are all things some may take for granted, but have meant so much to me.I got the chance to shadow the emergency department transitional care unit, which is a step down unit, as well as the neonatal ICU and as well as med surg. So those are all units I've always thought about as a student, even in high school. And just seeing them in action, I realized like, maybe I want a bit more of a fast-paced environment. For nurses, it's very important to understand people's backgrounds as well as empathize with them. And it's easier to empathize when you also have similar backgrounds or share similarities.Thank you for being able to gift money to SLU to help support students like me, as well as other students I've known. So many of my friends are so thankful and every, every dollar counts so much to us."
