Claire Gilbert, Ph.D., associate professor of history; Fabien Montcher, Ph.D., assistant professor of history; and Charles Parker, Ph.D., professor of history, will host their National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) summer institute called Global Geographies of Knowledge: Creating, Representing, and Commodifying Ideas Across Early Modern Places, 1400-1800 this year. The institute will bring together 30 higher education faculty members from across the world to Saint Louis University to transform the way in which history is taught. Rather than studying history in a chronological, linear fashion, the institute will encourage history to be studied and taught spatially.
