1:04University President Edward Feser Shares Message on SLU Giving DayEven small gifts make a big difference, Saint Louis University President Edward Feser, Ph.D, says."It's sort of like climbing a ladder, and you climb this ladder, and you reach this platform. The platform initially is that you graduated or maybe, years later, it's promotions and so forth. The way I ask students to think about it is to climb to the top of that ladder, and then ask yourself, are you going to be the person who turns around and holds it? Or are you going to go on to the next level? The best reason to turn around and hold the ladder is that somebody held it for you. And I think that's the power of SLU, too. It's about people. It's about community. It's about the network. It's about giving to that larger, that larger community of which you're a part. And so SLU Giving Day is a good opportunity to remind everybody of that. And if you can give $5, that's terrific. If you can give $500, that's terrific. And so on and so forth. But everybody is part of the success of the community, of which they're a member."Learn more about SLU Giving Day or take part at https://www.slu.edu/give/ways-to-give/giving-day.php.____________________Founded in 1818, Saint Louis University is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious Catholic research institutions.
