Be the Reason: Gael Cosgaya

Scholarships help students from all backgrounds access Saint Louis University's Catholic Jesuit education. Hear from SLU Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business student Gael Cosgaya about how donor support made his dreams of becoming a Billiken come true.Gael says: "All of the donations, all of the grants, all of the scholarships that I received, it's it's impacted my family the most, like my mom and my dad. Because now, we're able to focus more on my younger siblings and giving them a better life, a better a better future. And so I haven't been able to worry about, you know, making ends meet or paying or anything like that since everything's already covered. And I'm able to focus 100% on school now. This has been a dream come true. SLU was one of my dream colleges. I've been able to gain more patience, more knowledge, act more professional. We have a small family business called Rosario's Cleaning Services. My mom started cleaning residential homes. Then, a year later, I opened up commercial cleaning, where I was able to expand onto schools and offices.I recently closed a big contract, and so it built a little bit of momentum. And now I'm rethinking what I want to do after college, whether it's continue to grow my family business or go into private accounting. Hopefully, one day, I'll be able to give back."About SLU: Founded in 1818, Saint Louis University is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious Catholic institutions.
