Meet the Class of 2024
Saint Louis University celebrated its newest graduates during the 2024 Spring Commencement on May 18. As the University wraps up a week of celebration, meet a few members of this outstanding class and learn what they plan to do next.
Amogh Chariyamane
Doisy College of Health Sciences
Chariyamane, who earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences, is committed to health care and improving lives. During his time at SLU, he's taken part in innovative research in the lab of Tim Randolph, professor of clinical health sciences. Chariyamane plans to continue his studies as a medical student at the SLU School of Medicine.
Gabrielle Chiodo
College of Arts and Sciences
Chiodo, who earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and communication and minors in political journalism and women and gender studies, served her peers as editor-in-chief of The University News. She was named a Truman Scholar in 2023. She'll complete an internship with the Center for Law and Social Policy in Washington D.C. before beginning law school.
Adejoke Dingba
Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing
Dingba, who earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing, never gave up on her studies despite the challenges that came with balancing her accelerated nursing program with her military career and duties as a wife and mother. After graduation, she plans to find employment in Germany, where her husband has been given orders to serve by the United States Air Force.
Peyton Kennedy
Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business
Kennedy, who earned a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship, helped lead the women’s basketball team to two Atlantic 10 championships as well as its first Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) championship. She plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration at SLU.
April Lewis
School of Medicine
Lewis, who earned a medical degree, is a proud St. Louis native and first-generation college student. She’ll continue her medical training at Washington University in St. Louis as an obstetrics and gynecology resident.
Quinn Riordan
Saint Louis University - Madrid
Riordan,who earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from SLU-Madrid, spent her entire undergraduate career at Saint Louis University’s campus in Madrid where she explored Europe and served others in the community. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in environmental policy.
Saloni Shringarpure
School of Science and Engineering
Shringarpure, who earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, is passionate about science and medicine. A long-time volunteer at the Hindu Temple of St. Louis health clinic and an emergency medical technician (EMT), she plans to take a gap year then continue her studies in medical school.

- SLU Vaccine Center Will Enroll Healthy Volunteers in West Nile Virus Clinical TrialSaint Louis University's Center for Vaccine Development will enroll up to 30 adult volunteers in a clinical trial to study the safety and immune response elicited by a new investigational vaccine for West Nile virus. Currently, there is no approved vaccine or treatment for illness caused by West Nile virus. A previous study of an earlier version of this vaccine showed the vaccine was safe and well-tolerated. Building on these findings, this new study will assess an updated version of the vaccine.

Jack Tierney O.S.A. cheered along with the rest of the world’s Catholics. Tierney is a member of the Midwest Augustinians, the same religious Order that produced Pope Leo XIV. Their paths frequently crossed as brother friars.

- Lawrence F. Barmann, Ph.D.: 1932-2025Lawrence Francis Barmann, Ph.D., emeritus professor of American Studies, died April 25, 2025. He was 92.
- Patricia L. Monteleone, M.D.: 1935-2025Patricia L. Monteleone, M.D., dean emerita of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, died Sunday, May 4, 2025. She was 89. A true trailblazer, Monteleone was the first female dean of Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
- SLU to Serve as Regional Summit Hub Host Site in National Event Around Health Care Workforce ReadinessOn Wednesday, May 21, the Saint Louis University Interprofessional Education Program, the Doisy College of Health Sciences, will host the fifth annual Regional Summit sponsored by the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions.
