SLU School of Education Student Recognized as Missouri Teacher Leader of Tomorrow
Molly Craig, a recent graduate from the Saint Louis University School of Education, was recognized as one of the 2024 Missouri Teacher Leaders of Tomorrow by the Missouri Milken Educators. The award, a collaboration between the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and previous Milken Educator award winners, celebrates individuals who have demonstrated high potential to achieve greatness in education and gives them the tools to continue that greatness as they become first-year teachers.

Craig was nominated for the 2024 Missouri Teacher Leaders of Tomorrow award by a group of SLU educators, all of whom spoke of her commitment to education.
“Molly has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and promise throughout her tenure at Saint Louis University, both as a student and as a prospective teacher,” said Jeannine Butler, Ed.D., assistant professor of educational studies. “Her commitment to education is inspiring, and she embodies the ideal qualities of an educator, fostering an environment where learners feel valued and supported.”
By receiving this award, Craig will benefit from personalized mentorship provided by distinguished Missouri Milken educators, all of whom have received the prestigious National Milken Educator Award from the Milken Family Foundation in recognition of their remarkable accomplishments. She will receive a full year of coaching and mentorship, gaining access to the extensive network of Missouri Milken Educators, which serves as a valuable resource for educators committed to educational excellence, and will have the honor of being recognized by the Missouri State Board of Education on June 11 before taking part in a day-long professional learning workshop led by Missouri Milken Educators.
Craig is committed to serving students in St. Louis who need special services. After receiving her bachelor’s degree on May 18, Craig plans to continue her education at SLU in the Masters of Education Leadership program while teaching full-time at Mullanphy Botanical Garden Investigative Learning Center in St. Louis Public Schools.
“Molly is an inspiration in our school community and beyond,” Butler said. “It is not only her intense love for learning, but also her ability to inspire a love for learning in all students that sets Molly apart and gives the rest of us immense hope for the teaching profession.”

The Billikens recently competed in the 2026 Pan-American Intercollegiate Chess Championship in Oak Brook, IL. SLU’s A Team finished fourth and secured a spot Collegiate Chess Championship finals, known as the President's Cup or colloquially as the “Final Four.” Additionally, the SLU B-Team was the top women’s squad at the tournament and will advance to the inaugural Women's President’s Cup.
